The intervention concept is characterized by the building of a pedestrian and bike path going from Scafati’s historical centre till Pompeii, a grand bou- levard that can be used as an observation tool to read the urban framework and to perceive the space of the area; it is a riverside walk through the mile- stones that made the territory so famous all over the world.
The park of the Polverificio works as a hinge between Pompeii and the historical centre of Scafati and its aim is to act as a new touristic attraction working sinergically with the archaeological sites. The creation of a linear park is a crucial deve- lopment feature for the territory. The intervention aims both to improve the knowledge of an important natural and historical area, and for the develop- ment of tourism in and around Scafati.
